As expected, the lone Democrat in the race for State Treasurer – Derrick Edwards – finished first in the field of six candidates. He garnered 31% of the vote in the primary on Saturday.

Democrat Derrick Edwards, who ran without the official endorsement of the Louisiana Democratic Party and without its funding, pulled off a stunning victory Saturday night in leading the field of Treasurer candidates.
