Billionaire Michael Bloomberg is now considering a potential race for President of the United States. The former Mayor of New York, who has flirted with the race many times, has reportedly become concerned with the possibility that ultra-progressive U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) will win the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, but not be able to defeat President Donald Trump in the 2020 general election. According to Democratic pollster Jef Pollack, Bloomberg’s move “reflects a feeling that the field cannot beat Donald Trump.”

President Donald Trump and US Senator Rand Paul want to out a whistleblower who launched the Ukraine controversy that has morphed into an impeachment inquiry. Both men, including their right-wing media dogs are yapping loudly and coarsely about how the whistleblower is anti-Trump, therefore, the entire impeachment proceeding must be fatally tainted.   They claim that not only must the government watchdog’s identity be revealed but he must face the public crucible.

Leading Democratic presidential candidate U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has officially unveiled her “Medicare for All” plan. This program is based on fantasy financing. According to Warren, it will cost $52 trillion over ten years, but a middle-class tax increase will not be needed.

It’s only fair, for a moment, to laud President Donald Trump’s coup at killing Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi by U.S. forces and the good taste not to publish photos of officials reacting to the hit. It’s understandable if some people hesitate to utter the word “coup” because of how it’s used by Republicans to describe the impeachment inquiry being conducted in congress.

In the first primary governor’s race here in the Bayou State, incumbent John Bel Edwards looked to be on the verge of a first primary victory.  Then at the last minute, the President blew into the state. It made a huge difference, and now Edwards is in the political fight of his life being challenged by political newcomer and Trump ally Eddie Rispone.

According to a Louisiana survey just released Wednesday afternoon, incumbent John Bel Edwards has 50.3% of the vote with Republican political neophyte trailing closely at 46.6 percent with 3.1 percent undecided. In the same poll, 41% of the voters favor impeachment of President Donald Trump while 66 percent oppose.  The survey was conducted by former University of New Orleans Professor of Political Science, Ed Chervenak.

Two weeks after the primary election, Louisiana Republicans are feeling more confident that businessman Eddie Rispone can defeat Governor John Bel Edwards in the runoff election on November 16.

While Edwards led Rispone in the primary election by a large margin of 47-27%, the total vote for the three Republican candidates reached 52%. If the Republican voters stay loyal to Rispone, he will win.

President Donald Trump has stirred up a hornet’s after he ordered an immediate pullout from northeastern Syria.  Maybe he could have been a bit more diplomatic. But are a thousand U.S. troops really going to make any major difference in the chaos taking place in this part of the world?

The bigger question is just how much involvement should the United States undertake in the Middle East?  We have been fighting endless wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and putting out never ending brushfires throughout this region for the past seventy years.  Some 20,000 American soldiers have lost their lives fitting in this region since 9/11.

There he goes again.

Rudy Giuliani, who has turned into a gusher of embarrassment for lawyers, the City of New York and sometimes for his client, Donald Trump, has been known to say things that often-run counter to the Trump narrative.

He’s done it again.  This, time, borrowing once again some Watergate parlance, outed by the "smoking tweet".

Will someone tell President Donald Trump to stop lying about John Bel Edwards and the Louisiana budget.

We watch Trump on TV. We hear him on the radio. He rants that John Bel Edwards broke his “sacred promise” to people of the State of Louisiana and raised taxes.

What he fails to say in the commercial are the words, Bobby Jindal.
