QUICKIEA Louisiana governor's race Friday afternoon quickie--getting to the meat.

Right now, don’t bet on it.

Despite UNO’s poll showing a 22-point differential in Jon Bel Edwards’ favor, the most accurate pollster this gubernatorial election cycle, Verne Kennedy, is doing daily tracking.

As of Wednesday, David Vitter has slightly closed the gap to 11 points with a 26% African American turnout and a four point advantage with black turnout at only 20%.  Indicators of turnout so far show the black turnout to be over 26% based upon early voting, however.

It is important to note that there can be swings one way or another, depending upon the days’ events and what matters, of course, is election day.

We will update you daily, if the poll information becomes available.

Today, I will be a guest of the popular statewide radio talk show hosted by Jim Engster starting at 4:15 pm.  You can hear it on 107.3 AM along with the daily podcasts.

This just in from the Louisiana Democratic Party

After a week that saw his campaign rocked by yet another wave of new allegations ofillegal activities, David Vitter continues to stonewall the public, and to avoid answering questions about the web of scandal surrounding his entire operation.

In a major development, investigators from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office met yesterday with the FBI regarding the complex array of illegalities and improprieties attributed to the Vitter campaign and its operatives.

Among the many suspicious activities Vitter’s henchmen were implicated in:illegal video and audio taping of private citizens;strong-arming witnesses and manufacturing affidavits; andintimidation and harassment.

“David Vitter continues to try run out the clock on this election by alternately lying to us and ducking tough questions. Did his campaign break the law?,” said Stephen Handwerk, Executive Director of the Louisiana Democratic Party. “The people of Louisiana deserve a straight answer to some tough questions, Senator. The voters won’t wait while you get your story straight.“

AFP is intervening in #lagov for the first time, attacking JBE for holding the exact same position as Vitter:
