The Packers are 5.5-point favorites over the Saints in the NFL regular-season opener at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

Of course, whether the season will open as scheduled remains a primary topic of conversation for those connected to the NFL. While optimism about the progress of negotiations between the owners and players on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement has increased recently, the lockout continues.

In event of an extended work stoppage, some advance wagers would become null and void.

The Nevada sportsbook has its own power ratings, a metric oddsmakers use to help set the lines. The Patriots enter 2011 as the top-rated team, with the Steelers second and the Packers third.

Canton Sportsbook believes the Raiders, Rams and Lions will be improved this season.

I have to tell you, it's hard to predict what's going
to happen in Week 12.

The Saints are favored in all their games except Green Bay and the Falcons at Atlanta.

The Saints lines:

Saints +5.5 at Green Bay. I've got nothing against the Packers, but I think the Saints are the play here. Last January's loss at Seattle provides the motivation while the addition to their offense of Mark Ingram will mean more to this offense than most people realize.

Bears +4 at Saints
Texans +6 at Saints
Saints -4 at Jaguars
Saints -7.5 at Panthers
Saints -1.5 at Buccaneers
Colts +2.5 at Saints. The Saints have gone 17-7 in the Superdome the last three seasons, but are less than a full three-point favorites over the Colts. Keep in mind the Colts are 4-5 in their last nine road games. I have a feeling the line will go up close to game time.

Saints -3 at Rams
Buccaneers +4 at Saints
Saints +3 at Falcons
Giants +3 at Saints
Lions +3.5 at Saints
Saints -3 at Titans
Saints -3 at Vikings
Panthers +11 at Saints
