No. 4 LSU will get its season going when they collide with No. 3 Oregon's flashy offense in the Cowboys Classic on Saturday at Arlington, Tex.

The game will be televised by ABC and will begin at 7:12 p.m. Oregon is favored by 3 1/2 points.

Some 45,000 Tigers fans are in the area for college football's game of the week.  They hope the Tigers consume Oregon’s offense and defense on their way to victory.

The Ducks begin their quest to get back to the BCS Championship Game, and they've never been in a better position. The Tigers' goal this season is the BCS Championship Game.

On the offensive side, questions surround Tigers quarterback Jarrett Lee, and how he will handle the starting job in the aftermath of the Jordan Jefferson suspension. Lee has struggled to throw the football downfield over the past two seasons, completing 5 of his 26 throws of 15 or more yards.

What can LSU do to stop the Oregon offensive attack? In the BCS Championship Game, Auburn took away the Ducks' ability to run the ball. (75 yards on 32 carries 0 TD).

The Tigers return seven starters on a defense that ranked 42nd against the run. The Tigers must keep the Ducks offense off the field as much as possible. Oregon had only 18 three-and-outs a year ago (second nationally). The Tigers defense ranked 17th the category

With Quarterback Darron Thomas and running back LaMichael James returning for encores, the Ducks look to build on last season's high-powered offense In 2010, the Ducks led the FBS it total offense and scoring offense , and ranked fourth in rushing last year.

The Ducks have gaps in their offensive and defensive lines this season and the Tigers will try to beat them physically with their running game.

Last word: "Labor Day is when we celebrate our work force. Do we still have a work force?" -- David Letterman? In honor of the first Saturday of college football season, three of my favorite quotes about college football: "The person who complains about the way the ball bounces is probably the one who dropped it." Lou Holtz. "Football is only a game. Spiritual things are eternal. Nevertheless, Beat Texas!", -- Seen on a church in Arkansas before the 1969 game between the Razorbacks and Longhorns. "There's nothing that cleanses your soul like getting the hell kicked out of you." Woody Hayes...
