No. 1 LSU (7-0, 4-0) meets No. 20 Auburn (5-2, 3-1) in a SEC West Division at 2:39 on Saturday in Tiger Stadium. CBS is televising the game (Ch. 4).

The defending champs did capture last season's game, but was at Auburn and Cam Newton, not Clint Moseley, was taking the snaps.

Moseley, a sophomore with only nine passing attempts, will be the third consecutive first-time starter that the Tigers will be facing.  Florida's Jacoby Brissett and Tennessee's Matt Simms were treated rather rudely in a pair of losses (41-11 and 39-7) during the past two weeks.

"We have a huge, tall order in front of us in Baton Rouge, but we're going to embrace it," said Plainsmen coach Gene Chizik. "It going to be a lot of fun. We'll have to play a great game to have a chance to win; the best we've played all year.

"LSU is a great football team. They are solid everywhere There are no weaknesses to their team. .So, you have to play your best game to have a chance to win."

LSU will focus on War Eagles running back Michael Dyer and dare Moseley to try his luck. LSU's two-quarterback and power running attack will be playing against an inadequate defense. LSU's defense ranks in the top 10 in the nation.

The Tigers, who'll be without their three suspended players, have enough talent to win their eighth straight for the first time since 1973. The Times-Picayune reports the three players were suspended for smoking "mojo," a synthetic marijuana. It could be purchased until recently in retail stores.

Prediction: Lay the 22 points. Final: LSU 39-13.

(Note: Writer Marty Mule has re-releases his book”:Game of My Life," which features LSU's improbable victories and sometimes valiant defeats. He wrote the book during LSU's national championship season in 2003).

"There are some requirements in place which the players have to complete before they'll be allowed back on the team," a source familiar with the situation told Schlabach. What those specific requirements would consist of are unclear.

LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux was suspended from the football team because he was missing team meetings and being late for practices, and didn't meet the requirements for remaining in school. writes that it's also unclear if these reports of failed drug tests constitute a first or second offense. Per LSU's drug policy for student -athletes, a second failed drug test would prompt a suspension of up to 30 days. That 15 per cent for football would represent a rounded-up number of two games, which would preclude any of the three players from playing in the Alabama game if this was their second case of dirty urine.

As has been reported by the media outlets, Schlabach, 12-year NFL player, writes that the players are facing sanctions for having tested positive for synthetic marijuana, which is one of multiple recreational and prescription drugs for which the university tests.

The weed substitute, more commonly referred to as K2 and which was developed at Clemson Universityis described  by one "pharmacologist" as "an herbal substance sold as  an incense or smoking material that remains legal in the United States. The products contain one or more synthetic compounds that behave similarly to the primary psychoactive constitute of marijuana...THC.
