BushAlabama dropped just one spot to No. 3 in the BCS standings after the loss, staying ahead of unbeaten Stanford and Boise State. Bama dropped to No. 4 in the AP and coaches poll. It's not too surprising now to see the Tide ahead of Boise State, but the fact that Nick Saban's team has dropped  only one position in the poll that matters the most , for now, threw the possibility of a rematch is a little more than just a fantasy...

Columnist Adam Kramer of Kegs 'n has a message to a crying Alabama fan: "Look bro. We get it. We know you're upset. We know your championship hopes were just squashed and you probably paid top coin for those seats. We know it sucks when you team loses like that and that you even wore your finest crimson tie for the occasion. But, bro, There's no crying in the stands.

"Let's look at the positives. Your lovely lady friend and she looks rather lovely, in consoling a grown man crying at a sporting event. If that's not love I really don't know what is. I thought so."...

It's the third punt that Peterson has taken back for a touchdown this season and it is the second time that his skills as a returner have contributed to an Arizona win this season. He had an 89-yard return score in the fourth quarter in the season opener against the Panthers, the only other time the Cardinals have won a game this season...

Although a one-game suspension probably ended any hope LSU's Tyrann Mathieu had for the Heisman Trophy, the sophomore from St. Aug has been outstanding. Better known as the Honey Badger he has had 48 tackles, 3 forced  fumbles, 2 interceptions and numerous touchdowns. Look for Mathieu to be in the Heisman discussion for the rest of his LSU career...Eli Manning caught plenty of flak before the season for injecting himself into the list of elite NFL quarterbacks. Wildly out of character for a guy who otherwise goes out of his way to avoid controversy, is backing it up. The Giants quarterback is on pace for more than 4,700 passing yards with a 16 to 5 ratio of TDs to interceptions, Manning has become as effective as his brother...
