Drew Brees is not only a great quarterback but he’s not too bad as a promoter.
After agreeing to a contract with the New Orleans Saints on Friday which pays him 40 million dollars this year guaranteed and up to 100 million dollars over five years, you would think he be yelling into the cameras saying “I’m going to Disney World” Sunday morning after finalized the contract.
Well, he signed the contract donning a Love NOLA shirt and then asked “Who wants to join me for a celebratory #9 at Jimmy Johns at 4301Veterans Blvd? See you there”
Jimmy Johns just happens to be a franchise restaurant which Brees owns.
And, Love NOLA? Enuf said.
Here are his tweets from this weekend.

There's going to be some sense of "the new normal" in the Who Dat Nation now that Brees has signed.. Brees wasn't being "greedy" in negotiations, but that was just the art of negotiation. Both sides were simply playing the negotiations game, but far too long...
Brees knows how to work the media even better than Bear Bryant did while he was at Alabama, and he'll talk about how the Saints can still challenge for the NFC South title, maybe even the Super Bowl, despite all that's happened this offseason. I thought the Saints were good enough to win the Super Bowl last season until they struggled and lost to the 49ers in the playoffs...Thing is, Brees is right. The Saints have more talent now than they've ever had...
The Manning Passing Academy, which attracted 1,200 future football stars and 41 college starting QBs, concluded on Sunday at Thibodaux. Peyton, Eli and Cooper were there and Peyton had to answer a couple of questions. Peyton was asked if had anything to prove at Denver? "No," answered the new Broncos QB, tersely. Another guy asked him how close he is to being completely healthy? "I've stopped giving percentages," said Peyton, which means he's not as close as he'd like to be...So Brees got a $100 million bounty. Wait, let me rephrase that...
Former Florida State coaching icon Bobby Bowen said Penn State should take down the statue of Joe Paterno. Either that, or maybe just position it where it is constantly looking the other way way...Baseball, we're told, used to be our national pastime, but now it's the Kardashians....
Drew Brees will be the NFL's highest paid player until Aaron Rodgers signs his next Packers contract...Headlines: "Ex-Saints DC Gregg Williams: 'I will coach again.'"..."Former LSU CB Morris Claiborne Says He's Going to Cowboys Camp with or without Contract."...
