 margaritafr2Darling friends,

Wishing you and your family the best holiday season including Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa.

New Orleans is reveling in the victory streak of our beloved Saints. Let's keep it going so we could win another Super Bowl!

Please take time to come to the French Quarter and enjoy the thousand of lights dancing in the night. It is indeed a wonderful time of the year to discover the beauty of my beloved New Orleans.

As in the past, the Holiday season is a time of jolly and merriment and as such I have been invited to numerous private soirees. If I missed yours, it is because I needed to recharge my batteries so I could work a full day at Casell Gallery in the French Quarter, doing Real Estate and doing blurbs and photos for New Orleans Living magazine and Bayoubuzz.com.

Last week I enjoyed tremendously participating as one of the Louisiana Belles at the Southern Repertory Theatre. I played the Baroness of Pontalba during Christmas in the 1800s. It was a lot of fun and enjoyed seeing the other belles performing. I also enjoyed attending the sold-out Tales of the Toddy at the Hyatt. I need to congratulate the winners of the New Orleans’ Best Bourbon Spiked Eggnog Crowned at Tales of the Toddy.

Chris Hannah of Arnaud’s French 75 Bar created the winning cocktail, the Blue Hawaiian Nog, while Ian Julian (Pumpkin Trace) and Steven Yamada (Nog I Yam) tied for second place.

My annual Fiesta Navidena at the Casell Gallery was well attended and my guests enjoyed talented Riccardo Crespo entertaining and then attending other parties.

This week is going to be very special since the renaissance of Canal Street continues as the Joy Theater sign lights up Canal Street. The sign has been replicated to the exact specifications of the original sign that has graced Canal Street since 1947. Local legendary singer Irma Thomas will be on hand to light the iconic sign. That night is also the opening of Circle Dreams Holidaze. We are going to watch an international cast of over 30 multi-talented and brilliantly costumed artists comes to live and perform astonishing feats of disbelief at 8 p.m. at Mahalia Jackson Theatre. It will be playing from Dec. 20-24.

On December 21, Opera on Tap  is having its Holiday Party at the Inn on Bourbon. I am also looking forward to attending, on December 23, the annual NOCCA's Home for the Holidays at the House of Blues. It is going to be an evening of music and art to benefit the Daniel Price Memorial Fund for Aspiring Artists. Not to be missed.

On, December 26 and 27 Friends  of the Cabildo hosts the annual Creole Christmas Holiday Home Tour and Fr.Jerome Le Doux signs his book  War of the Pews: A Personal Account of St. Augustine Church from noon to to 3 p.m. both days of the event.

I also would to recommend that you catch Anais St. John this weekend at her last weekend at the Polo LOunge. She is going to be playing at the Hyatt.

Darlings, please I share all the wonderful events, I want to wish all of you: Feliz Navidad y un Prospero 2012, Joyeux Noel, Shalom, Peace on Earth, Buon Natale, Friden, Gledelig Jul.

Happy Holidays to all of you! In every language.
