The Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Convention Center has hit the 25- year-old mark this week and those involved in the convention and tourism industry celebrated the birthday on Thursday.

Considering the horrors from Hurricane Katrina showing images at the Center that were broadcasted across the world, the center has rebounded and is ready for the next 25 years.

Bayoubuzz interviewed Melvin Rodrigue, President of the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority and talked with Stephen Perry, the President and CEO of the President & CEO of the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau about the convention hall’s successes.

Rodrigue said the hall has a very bright future.

Perry discussed the role of government in building a structure such as the center and the economic returns to the community as the result of the investment.
