INTERNATIONAL DISASTER CONFERENCE
The International Disaster Conference & Expo 2015 has scheduled breakout sessions for the 2015 conference, to be held in New Orleans February 10 - 12, 2015.
The educational program at IDCE represents one of the premiere professional development and training opportunities uniting public and private sector professionals from around the world, serving all disciplines associated with emergency management, homeland security, and the cycle of disaster preparation, response, recovery and mitigation.
This year’s educational content of the International Disaster Conference & EXPO will revolve around the theme, “Emergency Management Technology for the Future,” and fit into one of the five educational tracks which include: Resiliency (Emergency Management, Response & Recovery, and Business Continuity); Technology & Innovation (Next Generation 911, Social Media, Interoperability); Public Health & Medical; Animals in Disasters; and Insurance.

Nada Bakos, a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) analyst who was on the team charged with
analyzing the relationship between Iraq, Al-Qaeda and 9/11, and Dr. Louisa E. Chapman, MD, MSPH, Senior Medical Officer, Epidemiologist and Captain in the US Public Health Service stationed at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), have been announced as keynote speakers, with more speakers to be announced.
This year’s event will include:
• Keynote addresses from internationally recognized industry leaders and policy makers;
• Over 30 sessions conducted by leading experts covering the cycle of preparation, response, mitigation and recovery;

BRAC’S BIG THINK
The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) today announced the eight companies selected to participate in Innovation Alley, a part of BRAC’s Big Think on November 19. The display and exhibit area, presented by University of Phoenix, will showcase innovative new products and services from around the Capital Region to Big Think attendees, and give them the opportunity to experience these innovations.
“Exposure and awareness are key factors for all start-ups,” said Adam Knapp, president and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber. “Innovation Alley will offer these exciting new companies the benefit of showcasing their assets to Big Think attendees. Big Think attendees with have the opportunity to test and experience new products coming to market from within the region.”
Innovation Alley exhibitors include:

BRAC’s Big Think, a new event to showcase and celebrate innovation and entrepreneurship, will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014at the Manship Theatre. The day-long program, presented by Louisiana Technology Park, will feature national speakers and subject matter experts, as well as local and regional resources for start-ups and second-stage companies.
