labi-logoThe powerful Louisiana Association of Business and Industry has issued its "Highlights from this week at the Capitol "

Here it is:

On the final day of Louisiana’s 2015 regular session, lawmakers approved numerous bills that will raise taxes in Louisiana by more than $2.3 billion over the next five years. The bills are effective July 1 of this year, and some bills include a sunset date of June 30, 2018. Earlier this week, the House had rejected the Senate amendments to these measures, sending them to conference committee for further consideration. LABI continued to oppose the bills throughout the process, working to mitigate the impact on the economy and job creation.

For your convenience, we have prepared a snapshot of the bills and the annual revenue increase that will result for the state (click on the image below to enlarge or click here to download summary).

Check the LABI website next week for a summary of all tax legislation that passed the Legislature.
