On the final day of Louisiana’s 2015 regular session, lawmakers approved numerous bills that will raise taxes in Louisiana by more than $2.3 billion over the next five years. The bills are effective July 1 of this year, and some bills include a sunset date of June 30, 2018. Earlier this week, the House had rejected the Senate amendments to these measures, sending them to conference committee for further consideration. LABI continued to oppose the bills throughout the process, working to mitigate the impact on the economy and job creation.

Governor Jindal: Don’t tell us we balanced budget by not raising taxes
The Louisiana legislative session from hell is over. Here are some quick observations:
