“STATEMENT FROM CLERK OF COURT DALE ATKINS REGARDING UPDATE ON DATA RECOVERY
I will give another update tomorrow regarding the progress in meeting the January 2nd deadline for data recovery. As of now, I expect conveyance records to be completed by midnight and possibly mortgage records as well. If mortgage data entry is not completed by midnight, I am confident it will be completed no later than Tuesday, January 4th, when the Clerk's office reopens. My staff and I have worked through the holidays and will be working up to midnight to meet our self-imposed deadline. “
Since the loss of data from the Civil Court Clerk’s Office earlier this year, much of the real estate industry in New Orleans has come to a significant halt.
