It’s Tuesday afternoon and time to check the email box to see what the Louisiana political world has to offer.

Let’s see. Governor John Bel Edwards claims that one of his opponents, Rep. Ralph Abraham is praising the governor’s business climate because the Congressman, for one, said that Louisiana is open for investment.  Elections are over six months away and the political climate is beginning to come to a slow boil, especially for the governor's race.

The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) today announced the members of its Leadership Baton Rouge class of 2019. The selected participants represent a cross section of the Capital Region’s business, civic and non-profit communities. 

Leadership Baton Rouge was founded as a program of BRAC to prepare a diverse group of professionals for leadership positions in the community. There are now more than 1,000 graduates of the program, many of whom serve in leadership positions on boards and commissions, and hold local, state, or federal elected offices. More information is available at brac.org/leadership.

The Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) has good news to report for the Capitol city area regarding its economy. Today, it presented its 2018 Economic Outlook at its Regional Stakeholders Breakfast. The report is available online at brac.org/reports.

With Baton Rouge being the second largest city in the State of Louisiana, there are some real pluses--such as name recognition nationally, abilities to grow more economically.  However, there are also some real negatives--traffic.
