With the confirmation of William Barr as the new U.S. Attorney, there is hope that the Department of Justice (DOJ) can regain some of its sterling reputation that has been lost in the last few years.

Once viewed as a fair and respected law enforcement agency, the DOJ is now seen as a hotbed of anti-Trump Democratic Party activism. In the 2016 election,The Hill reported that an astounding 97% of DOJ employee contributions were given to Hillary Clinton, while Donald Trump received only 3%.

“We declared clearly that the Russian government did not meddle in U.S. processes, does not meddle and moreover did not meddle in the 2016 elections,” according to Putin aide, Yuri Ushakov, as reported by the New York Times.

It’s reassuring that Russia can still be trusted, though there’s a worry about the triple negative Ushakov uses in his general denial.  ax trumpIn this first 300 days, President Trump has faced intense opposition from a variety of enemies. Of course, Democrats and the media have been opposed to everything he has proposed. The “deep state” bureaucrats have proven to be a formidable adversary as well. Unfortunately, “Never Trump” conservatives and establishment Republicans have also been very uncooperative. His legislative agenda has been stalled as Obamacare has not been repealed and the prospect of the tax reform package passing the U.S. Senate looks very questionable.
