The news release by last September said that former Gov. Bobby Jindal had been appointed to the board of directors of by Wellcare Health Plans, Inc., of Tampa, Florida.

Yawn. Ho-hum. Has LouisianaVoice become so desperate for stories that it resurrects a nine-month-old news release?

Louisiana, once again, regardless whether it opts into Obamacare, otherwise known as the Affordable Care Act under current Governor John Bel Edwards or privatizes its hospitals (under former Governor Bobby Jindal)--is still in the pits for healthcare.

More specifically, dead last, at least, according to the 2018 Best & Worst States for Health Care annual report by personal financial website, Wallet Hub.

Obama BoehnerHow does the process in passing  the Republican tax plan and its attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act compare with the actual passage of Obamacare during 2009 to March 2010?

For years, Republicans have slammed the Obamacare legislative process, Congress not reading the legislation, it being passed without the support of the people. Speaker of the House's Nancy Pelosi's statement about passing the bill into law so they know what's in it might go down as the one of the most-quoted political lines for American history.

Last week, President Donald Trump took unilateral action via an executive order to stop paying insurance companies amounts as designated under the Affordable Care Act, to reimburse insurers for their payments to insureds under the Affordable Care Act.  The President claims the payments to the insurance companies are a bailout. After terminating the payments, Trump said that  "Obamacare is dead". The President and the Republican-led Congress were unsuccessful in repealing and replacing Obamacare which lack of success precipitated Trump's move last week.
